In December 2007 at the opening of their new Design Studio, Aston Martin unveiled the latest evolution of the Vantage. Known as the V12 Vantage RS Concept, Aston had managed to shoehorn their sensational 5.9L AM11 V12 engine out of the DBS into the beautifully compact and capable Vantage chassis.  

Along with a heavily revised aero, chassis and brake setup, the V12 Vantage began production in 2009. The end result was a monumentally capable sports car. The linear nature of the naturally aspirated V12 made it a very potent yet predictable car to drive whilst the chassis revisions perfectly complemented the cars new found performance.

The success of the new V12 powered baby Aston was echoed by journalists and customers alike. In the words of Mr Clarkson, “it is fantastic…..it’s wonderful, wonderful, wonderful”.

First registered in August 2010, this magnificent Meteorite Silver over Obsidian Black V12 Vantage has covered 13,500 miles from new with full Aston Martin service history. Having been in its last ownership since 2013, the car received its 11th year service at AM Brentwood in August 2021 at 13,347 miles. Along with the comprehensive standard specification fitted to V12 Vantages, this example also benefits from a front & rear parking camera.

 It doesn’t take long behind the wheel to realise you are in the presence of a very special machine. The bark as the 5.9L naturally aspirated V12 fires into life is spine tingling and the remarkably purposeful yet usable 6 speed manual gearbox is a joy to drive with. The engine is a true masterpiece with perfectly linear torque as you stretch its legs up the rev range. It is a cracking engine which offers bountiful power low down yet constantly encourages you to stretch its legs if the opportunity arises. The ride is firm yet pliable and perfectly suited to the UK’s more undulating roads.

As an investment, the shift to a forced induction V12 power unit by Aston Martin in their new cars signals that the V12 used in this Vantage is likely to be the last of dying breed. This is also true of the manual gearbox which is soon to be confined to the history books. The combination of the large capacity naturally aspirated engine combined with the 6 speed manual gearbox makes the Aston Martin V12 Vantage one of the last bastions of analogue driving experiences in the modern day…..and that is an extremely valuable combination. We are already seeing values of these cars begin to appreciate and our view is that this will continue for the foreseeable future.
