In 2006, Porsche released their latest motorsport derived model to sport the iconic RennSport moniker…..the 997 GT3 RS. Building on the success of the previous generation 996 model, Porsche were keen to capitalise on their hard-core track focused fan base combined with a new era of more mainstream adoration for their road legal motorsport offerings. The result was a road racer which perfectly balanced it’s on road usability with mind blowing race track capabilities.
As a step up from the already very potent 997 GT3, the RS gained a wider bodyshell from Porsche’s C4 (4wd) cars which allowed the rear axle to be 44mm wider ultimately reducing body roll. The wheel base was extended 5mm to improve stability along with a larger rear spoiler to increase downforce through faster corners. The car also weighed in 20kg lighter than the GT3 thanks to weight saving benefits such as a single mass flywheel and Perspex rear window.
The combination of these ingredients resulted in the creation of a true cult icon which to this day remains one of the most adored Porsche RS cars of all time.

First registered in March 2007, this timeless C16 UK example has covered 12,000 miles from new with full OPC service history accompanied by a sensational history file and an immaculate rev range report showing no activity in any of the six ranges. The car has just returned to us from its 14 year/140k mile maintenance service.
